There are 52 airports in Spain, which sounds a lot for a country whose population is around 46 and a half million, and here the most important airports will be mentioned.

The airports with the highest number of passengers are the following:

  1. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas
  2. Barcelona-El Prat
  3. Aeropuerto de Palma de Mallorca
  4. Aeropuerto de Málaga, Costa del Sol
  5. Aeropuerto de Gran Canaria
  6. Aeropuerto de Alicante

Although these are the airports where there are most passengers per year, there are other airports that are important for tourism such as the airports of Ibiza and Lanzarote, both situated in the Balearic Islands which by the way is a very cool and interesting destination, the airports of Valencia, Bilbao’s among others.

But we will focus on these airports because they are the ones that get the biggest number of passengers every year. Honestly, many of the airports in Spain are considered very good by experts. The Aldolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas and the Barcelona-El Prat are on the top list of the best airports in Spain but they are not in the first positions, the airport of Alicante is considered on the top 3 airports of Spain despite it is médium-sized. But all of the airports mentioned above are very good quality.
